Preparing our Residents to be Responsible, Productive & Successful

About Mentors for Youth

Mentors for Youth

Our Mission

Orange County Mentors for Youth is a level 12 group home serving adolescent boys from ages 13 through 18. Our goal is to help them become productive young men, able to lead successful adult lives. We work to accomplish this by providing a stable, home-like environment along with the supportive services to help them overcome the obstacles in their lives.

The Program

Orange County Mentors for Youth provides a variety of therapeutic interventions to address the needs of our residents.

  • We provide weekly individual therapy with a licensed psychologist.
  • All residents are assessed for substance abuse issues. A weekly substance abuse group is facilitated by a Marriage and Family Therapist.
  • Residents are also provided Anger Management group therapy as necessary.
  • During the school year a tutor comes to the home two days per week to meet with each resident to ensure they are meeting their educational goals.
  • Those residents requiring psychotropic medication are seen by a psychiatrist at least one time per month.
  • Residents age 15.5 or greater will participate in Independent Livings Skills programing through the Orangewood Children's Foundation and additional ILP activities within the homes.
